Legislative Overview
The Department of Indiana, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), is steadfast in its commitment to support and advocate for the rights and benefits of veterans. Through our legislative efforts, we strive to ensure that veterans and their families have access to the full range of benefits available to them, including healthcare, education, employment, and compensation for service-connected disabilities. Our work involves engaging with lawmakers at both the state and federal levels to influence policy decisions that impact the veteran community. We actively participate in legislative hearings, provide testimony on veterans' issues, and work alongside other veterans' service organizations to promote a unified voice for change. Through our advocacy, we aim to secure and enhance the rights of all veterans, ensuring they receive the respect, support, and care they have earned through their service to our nation.
As a founding member of the big 4
The DAV Department of Indiana collaborates closely with the other key organizations, including The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Indiana National Guard Association, to advocate for state legislative efforts benefiting Hoosier veterans. This partnership aims to harness the collective strength and resources of these organizations to tackle crucial issues facing veterans within Indiana. Through coordinated advocacy, the Department engages with state lawmakers to ensure veterans’ needs are prioritized in areas such as healthcare, benefits, and employment. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to enhancing the well-being of veterans and their families throughout Indiana, focusing on state-level initiatives to effect meaningful change.
